breathe with me (2025-2026)
Grand Central Madison Terminal, New York, NY
Breathe with Me is a five-channel video installation commissioned by MTA Arts & Design and presented at Grand Central Madison Terminal. Filmed underwater, the work follows performers as they walk, balance, reach, and release breath in slow, deliberate rhythms—transforming simple actions into gestures of endurance and connection. Displayed across synchronized screens in a public transit hub, the installation contrasts the urgency of commuter movement with the stillness of submerged bodies. This shift in tempo invites viewers into a moment of pause, where breath becomes both a shared biological act and a point of connection. Working through water as both medium and condition, Breathe with Me reflects on vulnerability and interdependence—how bodies persist, together and apart, within larger ecological systems.
